Tiffany Lamps

A new show is coming to town at the Morse Museum in Florida. It’s called “Quest of Beauty — Louis Comfort Tiffany’s Life & Art”.

As some of you may know, Louis loved surrounding himself with beautiful things. It’s his drive for beauty that lead him to create his amazing Tiffany Lamps! So if you want some insight in how Louis surrounded himself in beautiful things, where he got his inspiration from, then this show is a must see!

The exhibition opens November 6th so be there are be…. well… in a different state!

As you may well know, Meyda Tiffany Lighting produces some beautiful Tiffany lamps for your home. But they also produce pool lights.
Today we’ll look at the hanginghead dragonfly Tiffany pool lamps.

The Tiffany Scarlet Dragonfly Lamp

It takes 6 medium bulbs and is 40″ long.
Then there’s the Tiffany Hanginghead Dragonfly Pool Lamp

This too takes 6 bulbs and is 40″ long.

Then there’s a Tiffany hanginghead lamp that’s 32″ long.

You can now subscribe to New Lamps added RSS feed. Just like you can for the feed that informs you when new lamps are put on sale. Instructions on how to do this is very similar to a previous post. Duffner & Kimberly were a company, back in the 1900’s, that produced “Tiffany lamps”… or should I say stained glass lamps. They were one of Tiffany’s main competitors in stianed glass lamps. And although they didn’t capture natural themed stained glass lamps the way Tiffany did. They did produce some exquisite period stained glass lamps.

That’s right… you can now vote for the Tiffany lamp you want to have on sale in October 2006.

Remember I told you in a previous post to watch this space?
Well what I was refering to was consumer gaining more power… this power is for you to decide which Tiffany lamp you want on sale. Why?

Simple… have you ever scrolled through the sales pages to see if a lamp you want is on sale… or are you waiting for a lamp to go on sale? Wait no more. Because at TLW you can now decide, each month, from a selection of lamps to put on sale.

Check out the Tiffany lamps you can vote for.

Are you holding out on buying a Tiffany lamp until it goes on sale? Do you frequently visit the TLW (Tiffany Lamp World) website each month to see what lamp has been put on sale? Wouldn’t you like to be informed when a lamp is put on sale? Without getting emails? Without frequently visiting the site?

All you have to do is

• Get this software (feedReader)… it’s free by clicking on download (top right side of the webpage).
• Install it.
• Got to Tiffany Lamp World shopping page.
• Go to the bottom box on the left hand side of the page called “Tiffany Lamp Info”
• Click on the XML image or “NewTiffanyLamps on Offer” OR click here
• Copy the web address (this http://www.tiffanylampworld.com/NewTiffanyLampsOnSale.xml) by double clicking on it to highlight it, then right click the highlighted text and select copy.
• Run FeedReader (the software you’ve just downloaded and installed)
• Click add new feed
• Past the web address you’ve just copied
• Then click OK.

You have now succesfully subscribed to the New Tiffany Lamps On Sale feed.

This means, when ever new Tiffany lamps are put on sale. You will get a message on you’re computer. You can then click on the heading of the meassage and it will load up the webpage of the lamp that’s just been put on sale — without habing to open up an internet browser.

Oh… you might want to delete some or all of the rss feeds you get with FeedReader… as you’ll get pop ups on your computer all the time with news on investments and stuff from forbes.com. business week and the like. To do this, just right click on the feeds you don’t want… or the folder and select delete.
